Troop Camp Certification

The intention of Troop Camp Certification is to provide volunteers with the information necessary to prepare and guide girls in fun and safe outdoor adventures.

When completing your Troop Camp Certifications, please plan ahead and allow sufficient time to complete the recommended preparation activities with girls.

Approximate time needed to prepare girls:

Level 1 (beginning experiences) 1-2 months
Level 2 (intermediate experiences) 3-6 months

(The time needed to complete the recommended preparation steps will vary depending on the experience level of the girls, the planned activities, and the frequency of troop meetings.)

Pre-requisite: Troop Camp Certification Level One.

Completing Troop Camp Certification Level Two will qualify girls 14 and older to guide Girl Scouts in fire building, outdoor cooking, tent camping, and other outdoor skills. To effectively prepare girls for outdoor adventures, it is recommended that TCC level 2 be completed 3-6 months before planning any outdoor activities. (Girls 14-17 can only take the full-day course, not the blended course.)

Troop Camp Certification Level Two (two options to become certified):

Option 1: Complete the TCC2 Hybrid Course online through gsLearn, register, and complete a Blended In-Person Course (3 hours) through our Event Calendar.
Option 2: In-Person Course: Register and complete the 8-hour in-person course through the council. You can register through our Event Calendar.
