Girl Scouts love to travel, from the field trips they take as Brownies to the national and global adventures they experience as teens. Whether exploring a nearby community, traveling across the country, or discovering a new culture abroad, Girl Scout travel builds confidence, independence, leadership, and lifelong memories.

Follow in Charles Darwin’s footsteps through the Galápagos Islands and mainland Ecuador, where the legendary naturalist made discoveries with giant tortoises and finches that shaped the theory of evolution—plus dive into vibrant culture in Quito, Otavalo, and beyond!

Domestic Travel - New Orleans: You and Me Tour

Date: Oct 8, 2027 - Oct 11, 2027

This immersive tour to New Orleans, Louisiana, blends cultural discovery, history, and hands-on learning with unforgettable local experiences. Highlights include guided city tours, a swamp excursion, visits to the Audubon Aquarium and Zoo, a behind-the-scenes experience at Mardi Gras World, and a Mississippi River dinner cruise featuring live jazz. Girl Scouts will also explore the French Quarter, enjoy local cuisine, and participate in an engaging workshop that brings New Orleans’ vibrant heritage to life.

Adventures in Italy

Date: Tue May 30, 8:00 AM MST - Thur June 8, 10:00 PM MST

The journey begins with an overnight flight to Rome, where travelers arrive and settle into the heart of the historic city. After an orientation walk and a welcome dinner, the group dives into Rome’s rich past with visits to Vatican City, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica, followed by a hands-on tiramisu-making experience and evening walks past iconic landmarks like the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. Exploration of Ancient Rome continues with guided tours of the Colosseum and Roman Forum, capped by an empowering Gladiator Games activity. The adventure then moves to Umbria, featuring rafting on the River Nera and a visit to Assisi, where reflections on leadership and compassion bring history to life. Traveling north, the group experiences the art and architecture of Florence, followed by a stay in the Tuscan countryside with a traditional dinner. A visit to an organic farm includes a farm-to-table cooking class focused on sustainability before exploring the charming city of Lucca. The journey continues through Bologna and on to Venice, where gondola rides, a guided city tour, and a glass-blowing demonstration showcase the city’s unique culture and craftsmanship. A farewell dinner marks the end of an inspiring Italian adventure before departing for home with lasting memories, new friendships, and valuable life skills.

Peru: Land of the Incas

Date: Tue May 30, 8:00 AM MST - Thur June 8, 10:00 PM MST

This unforgettable journey through Peru blends history, culture, community immersion, and adventure. Beginning in Lima, travelers will explore colonial landmarks such as the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral of Lima, and the Monastery of San Francisco before flying to Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire. In the Sacred Valley, visits to Chinchero and Moray highlight traditional weaving practices and remarkable Inca agricultural innovations, preparing the group for deeper cultural discovery. A meaningful highlight is a full-day agricultural immersion in Mullaka Misminay, where participants will work alongside local farmers and visit a community school. The adventure continues through Ollantaytambo and via scenic train to Aguas Calientes, culminating in a guided exploration of Machu Picchu. Back in Cusco, travelers will visit Sacsayhuaman, explore vibrant markets, and enjoy a final day of kayaking and a picnic, reflecting on an enriching experience filled with learning, connection, and unforgettable memories.

Chaperones for Council Sponsored Tours toggle arrow

The Chaperone plays a key role in ensuring girl safety during any Girl Scout Arizona Cactus-Pine Council (GSACPC) sponsored domestic or international travel trips. The chaperone will lead Girl Scout youth members in small groups during a pre-planned travel excursion and report to the trip’s Group Leader. Direct and regular communication with the volunteer Group Leader and GSACPC’s travel liaison is required. Prior experience is required for adult members to serve as travel chaperones. Experience may include such activities as overnight trips with Girl Scouts, troop leading, domestic travel trips with older girls, etc. To learn more about Girl Scout travel progression, please visit Safety Activity Checkpoints.
