Join us for an exciting hands-on makerspace adventure where Girl Scouts become inventors, designers, creators, and problem-solvers!
During this interactive three-hour workshop, Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors will explore the world of crafting and tinkering while completing age-appropriate requirements for their Craft & Tinker badge. Girls will work with real maker materials, learn how tools and materials are used to create useful objects, and discover how makers improve ideas through testing and redesign. Girls will break into grade-level groups and take on the challenge of creating something that makes life better for another person. Along the way, they will learn how to identify a problem, design a solution, build a prototype, gather feedback, and improve their creation.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate as design coaches and project supporters, helping girls think through challenges while allowing them to lead the creative process. The event concludes with a Maker Showcase where girls share their projects, reflect on what they learned, and celebrate earning their Craft & Tinker badge.
