Is there a cost associated with renting space at a camp?
Yes. The prices vary depending on the spaces being reserved. Select one of the above camps to review prices for Girl Scout Troops and Service Units. Outside User Groups inquire via the "Complete Form" link.
Would we be able to reserve a program area? Are there any program offerings?
Yes, program areas may be reserved by session. A certified instructor is needed to run any of our program areas. It is best practice for a Troop or a Service Unit to have someone in their Troop/Service Unit trained in these areas. If there are no certified instructors, staff can assist in finding a volunteer instructor, based on their availability. Staff cannot guarantee that an instructor will be found to provide programming for an encampment.
Can we rent camping equipment?
No, the camps do not have equipment that may be rented out. You are responsible for bringing any items you may need to Camp.
What if I have my own gear?
You can bring your tent, stove, and coolers. TCC2 required.
What happens if I need to leave camp during my stay?
Contact camp staff and let them know when you are leaving and returning to camp.
What options do I have for food?
- Ramadas: Pre-prepared food that does not need to be cooked. It can be stored in the approved ramada areas. Plates, cups, cutlery, etc., are not provided.
- Parsons Leadership Center Packout Kitchen: This kitchen serves pre-prepared food that does not need to be cooked. Plates, cups, cutlery, etc., are not provided.
- Commercial Kitchen:
- Troops/Service Units: Valid food handler cards are required for anyone who enters the kitchen. You can utilize any equipment or cooking utensils found in the commercial kitchen. If you have questions about any specific item, please reach out to the camp manager. This includes Plates, cups, cutlery, etc.
- Outside User Groups: A food manager is required to be on-site when the commercial kitchen is being utilized. Anyone who enters the kitchen needs a valid food handler card. You can utilize any equipment or cooking utensils found in the commercial kitchen. If you have questions about any specific item, please reach out to the camp manager. This includes Plates, cups, cutlery, etc.
- Outdoor Cooking:
- Parsons Leadership Center has equipment that is different from the other camps; please inquire if you are looking to cook outdoors at this facility.
- You will need to bring any items needed to cook outdoors with you to any of our camping locations. If you have any questions on what you may need for outdoor cooking, please revisit your TCC1 & TCC2 Training Modules in GSLearn. This can include plates, cups, cutlery, and wash bins. Charcoal grills are provided.
- Catering:
- Drop Off Catering: Caterers may drop off food at the camps for you.
- Cooked offsite and set up at camp: We would need a copy of their vehicle insurance and a certificate of insurance.
- Caterers preparing food on-site: We would need a copy of their vehicle insurance, a certificate of insurance, a food manager's certificate for a manager staying on-site, and food handler cards for anyone entering the kitchen.
- Leave camp and get food in the nearby town.
Can I bring my pets?
No. However, service animals are welcome.
Can I bring my own sports equipment?
Yes, feel free to bring a soccer ball(s), volleyball (s), etc.
Equipment being utilized for any program area, such as climbing harnesses, ropes, bicycles, archery, canoes/kayaks/paddleboards, and PFDs, is not allowed. If an encampment is participating in a program, the Council will provide any and all necessary equipment.
Is cell phone service reliable at camp?
Not all camps have the same wireless range. Only Parsons Leadership Center has consistent wireless and cell phone service.
Can I bring an ATV, a trailer or an RV?
No. These types of vehicles are not allowed on the property.
Can additional visitors come to camp to visit my family?
If an adult visitor is a Girl Scout registered volunteer, they may be allowed on the property. Troops Leaders and Service Unit Leaders need to approve the visitor before they arrive and inform camp staff of an additional adult coming onto the property.
