Beginning Saturday, September 13, Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors will meet weekly at council offices in Phoenix to participate in discussions, hear from inspiring women in various career fields, and receive support in completing an online college course through Arizona State University (ASU).
As part of this exciting new program, Girl Scouts will enroll in ASU's Universal Learner Course - ENG 101: First-Year Composition (3 credits), which explores food systems, sustainability, and the global impact of human consumption while strengthening college-level writing skills. The ASU course is fully online and self-paced, allowing for flexibility on a case-by-case basis. While the completion of the college course is optional and does not impact earning the Girl Scout College Readiness Patch, it is an excellent opportunity for those looking to get a head start on college coursework. Girl Scouts will have a full year to complete the online coursework for ASU credit.
The GSACPC College Readiness Patch Program powered by ASU is designed to build confidence in college readiness while providing meaningful connections with professionals and peers. Additional details, including technology requirements, will be provided after registration. Spots are limited.
Registration Deadline: September 10, 2025
Please reach out to LaVisa Johnson, Senior Girl Program Manager at ljohnson@girlscoutsaz.org, with any questions.
The GSACPC College Readiness Patch Program At-a-Glance
Plant the Seed. Watch Us Bloom.
Program Dates: September 13 – November 1, 2025
This eight-week experience is rooted in the belief that one idea, one connection, or one voice can plant the seed for something bigger. In partnership with Arizona State University’s English 101 course, this series brings powerful speakers—especially Girl Scout alumni and purpose-driven professionals—into the room to help students think beyond the basics of college writing and explore who they’re becoming.
Each week invites students to reflect, connect, and bloom in new ways.
