Explore the world of archaeology in Flagstaff with Elden Pueblo.

Ever want to explore the region's prehistoric past in a pueblo built 800+ years ago? Imagine people living among the pines, as we do now. What can we learn from the things they left behind? Join us for a hands-on exploration of the remains of a culture long ago.
This workshop will rotate through sessions on lifeways, excavations, artifact analysis, prehistoric technologies and hunting games at the Pueblo.

Participants will earn an Archeology patch at Elden Pueblo's Girl Scout Workshop in Flagstaff. Troops or individual Girl Scouts can register for the one-day workshop or make it a weekend and stay over for the Sunday morning field survey event.

This is not a drop off event.

Optional: Camping is available at the site for free for families who would like to stay through Sunday. Fire restrictions may or may not be in effect. This is primitive camping, bring everything you will need. Tank water and chemical toilets are available. Sunday morning, there will be a carpool to the San Francisco Wash focus area, where Girl Scouts will join a field crew in a survey or site recording activity (9:00am - 1:00pm). 9 am to 1 pm.
