GSACPC Media Ambassador

GSACPC Media Ambassadors enjoy promoting Girl Scouts, being in front of the camera, speaking to media personnel and have positive energy. Our Media Ambassador Girl Scouts represent and speak on behalf of our Council and Girl Scouts for various PR opportunities throughout the member year. We want to encourage creativity and support girls as they venture out of their comfort zone to grow as individuals.

Media Ambassadors will have a selection of opportunities* to participate in including:

  • TV/radio appearances and interviews
  • Print interviews
  • Writing opportunities
  • Social media content creation
  • Content creation workshops hosted by GSACPC’s Marcom team
  • Photography
  • Special GSACPC events
  • Girl programs

*Opportunities are shared on a case-by-case basis and are given to girls who show continuous responsibility and enthusiasm.

A form for each girl must be submitted at the start of each member year. Media Ambassador Registration for the 2021-22-member year closes Nov. 1, 2021.

Training Date: Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, from 10-11am.
Location: TBD (Training may be hosted virtually.)

The first half of the training will review guidelines and FAQs for parents, and the second half will be for girls to learn interview tips and tricks and will give girls the opportunity to practice role playing.

New in 2022! Prize Incentives

To show our appreciation for all the creative ideas and content our Media Ambassadors generate throughout the member year, we have integrated a point system into our program that helps Ambassadors win prize rewards! Points will be generated by completing or participating in media opportunities – the more earned, the bigger the reward!  More information regarding rewards will be shared at our training on Jan. 8.

New in 2022! Media Mentor role

We are excited to introduce this new leadership role and the highest recognition in our program! This role will be available to Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts who have at least one year of experience as a Media Ambassador, and who are interested in a leadership role. Up to four Media Mentors will be selected each year by the Marcom team and can serve up to two years in that role. Girls will work more closely with the Marcom team to develop trainings and content, collaborate on ideas, and offer a girl perspective on GSACPC social media content. Additionally, Media Mentors will be recognized with a Media Mentor pin at the end of the program year.

We advise you read the roles and expectations for both Media Ambassadors and Media Mentors before selecting this option within the form.
