Our camps are accredited with the American Camp Association!

Posted: Aug 02, 2010

Girl Scouts-Arizona Cactus-Pine Council's (GSACPC) Camps Maripai, Shadow Rim Ranch and Willow Springs have just been accredited for another three years with the American Camp Association (ACA).

ACA accreditation is verification from the American Camp Association that these camps are recognized by courts of law and government regulators as the standards of the camp industry.

The ACA accreditation program has a fifty-year history and is continually evaluated and updated to reflect current best practice in camps.

For parents, the ACA-accredited camp sign symbolizes excellence and our accountability and ongoing commitment to the children we serve.

"Our American Camp Association accreditation is a stamp of approval that we can share with parents and partners," said GSACPC Program Manager Margaret Spicer. "It demonstrates our commitment and dedication to providing a physically and emotionally safe space for their children"

GSACPC camps offer a unique experience for girls including swimming, archery, primitive camping, cabin and program shelter activities, hiking, canoeing, low and high challenge course, a climbing tower, ecology and nature studies.

"Camp is a place where kids can intentionally gain independence and grow with their peers," Spicer said.
