Girl Scouts’ artwork featured in traveling art show!

Posted: Dec 07, 2011

Local Girl Scouts’ artwork was recently displayed in the Children’s Museum of Phoenix as part of the “Dream Rocket” project, which features artwork from around the world in a traveling art show.

In 2010, Girl Scouts from troops 82 and 426 submitted a colorful piece all about their favorite animals. When the project concludes in 2014, their piece, along with roughly 8,000 others will have been featured in over 50 libraries and museums around the world.  In the summer of 2014, the pieces will be linked together to wrap the Saturn V Moon Rocket at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

Deb Gilpin, CEO of the Children’s Museum of Phoenix is proud to host the Dream Rocket project in the museum.

“Our museum is a depiction of our community; every person is a unique human being and has a place to present themselves here. We are honored to have hosted this.”

Great work, Girl Scouts!
