Make new friends, keep the old…

Last week, Girl Scouts from Troop 2813 in Scottsdale visited a group of women who have a long history with the Girl Scouts organization. Several of the residents of the Vi at Grayhawk retirement community were Girl Scouts during World War II, and had amazing stories to share.

One woman recalls collecting scrap metal for the war effort, while another woman remembers how, using Morse code, she was able to get freed from a faulty elevator.

Phoenix Mercury donates game tickets and more to Girl Scouts!

Posted: Jul 02, 2012

Who loves basketball? Girl Scouts! Because of the generous donation made by the Phoenix Mercury, some Girl Scouts were able to enjoy a game for free! The Phoenix Mercury donated 34 tickets and 28 hot dog and soda vouchers for the game on June 23. These tickets were distributed to girls who otherwise would not have the opportunity to participate in the Phoenix Mercury game experience.

We are most appreciative of our ongoing partnership with the Phoenix Mercury and our joint partner, Valley of the Sun United Way.

We give our hearfelt thanks to the Phoenix Mercury! Because of your donation, Girl Scouts and their families from across the Phoenix area were able to enjoy a wonderful experience.
