Getting to Camp by Bus

Reservations must be made in advance. Please contact Reghelp at 602-452-7030, or reghelp@girlscoutsaz.org if you would like to reserve a space.

If you did not indicate that you wanted your camper to ride the bus upon registration or have not contacted us via phone, or e-mail, your camper is not registered to take the bus! Space is limited.

Please provide a sack lunch and a large bottle of water (at least 32 ounces) for your camper for the bus ride to camp. (Do not send “sugary” drinks as they leave a sticky mess when spilled and may cause your camper to become sick on the bus.)

Required Documents

On the first day of arrival, please submit a completed transportation permission slip for entrance.

Anyone you have authorized to be your camper pick up person will be asked to present a photo ID and to sign your camper out. Every parent wants to see their child as soon as possible and it is important that your child is picked up by someone you have listed as “authorized” (Authorization must be done through the UltraCamp system in advance). Please be patient with the sign out procedure and our volunteers. This is for your child’s safety.

NOTE: We must have a minimum of 20 campers per bus. If minimums are not met, the bus MAY be cancelled.

Late Arrivals and Early Departures

If you miss the bus, you will be responsible for driving your camper to camp. No refunds are available for bus or day camp fees.

If you or your camper will be arriving late, you will need to contact the camp office prior to arrival. Please report to the camp office upon arrival.

If your camper will need to leave early for any reason, you will need to notify the camp office during check-in.

For your camper’s safety, our gate remains closed during our camp session; without prior notification, you will not be able to enter the property. You will need to report to the camp office to pick up your camper.

Safety Procedures
  • Stops are outside and offer little shade.
  • The Central bus stop is often crowded with long lines.
  • Please bring water to drink and follow directional signs upon arriving at the site.
  • You may want to consider leaving small children and pets at home.
  • Your camper will not be able to board the bus until she is called.
  • Please remain with your camper until your camper boards the bus and the bus departs.

Medication

Medication can only be left at camp if the medication:

  1. Is in the original container,
  2. Is labeled with the camper’s name, physician’s name and correct dosage, and
  3. Is prescribed for her by a physician, and
  4. Includes detailed written instructions on the Camper Health History Form

Please bring only prescription medication to camp. Medication will be administered according to the prescribed instructions. Emergency Medications such as Epinephrine or inhalers will remain with the camper always and camp staff will know the specifics of that child’s medical needs.

Safety Procedures During Bus Travel

  • Adult volunteers will have a roster of all campers riding the bus.
  • Adult volunteers will conduct a “roll call” and must be respected at all times.
  • Aisles are clear for emergencies at all times.
  • Please use trash bag for all trash.
  • When walking to the restroom, hold onto seat backs.
  • Tennis shoes need to be worn at all times and please keep them off of the seats.
  • No soda or any sticky candy.
  • If the driver asks for quieter voices, please follow that request.

Emergency Procedures

If there is an emergency involving your camper or the bus, you will be contacted by the Council as soon as possible. The Council office will use your primary phone number listed. It is important that the number is accurate.

Questions or Changes

Questions or Changes?

602-452-7000 or 602-452-7080 or campbus@girlscoutsaz.org

It is NOT possible to make arrangements for someone to stay with your camper beyond the bus check-out time. If a change occurs and buses will not be returning to Phoenix on time, the council office will make every attempt (via email and phone) to contact you and be present at bus stop to answer questions.

Want to be a bus chaperone?

All chaperones will start the journey from our Central Phoenix stop.

Reimbursements will ONLY be given to those who have reserved a spot for bus trip, they will be processed after the trip is completed and will be returned to the card used to purchase the bus trip(s). The amount of reimbursement will not exceed the amount of bus trips per girl.

Official confirmation will be emailed the week before the trip.
