Aspire Academy

March 10-13, 2019

Girl Scouts are gearing up with Central Arizona’s bravest women for Aspire Academy! Aspire Academy will pair girls, grades 9-12 with a female mentor from the Police or Fire Department. The academy will rotate participants through hands-on learning stations that include rappelling down buildings, climbing fire ladders, and mock crime scene investigations!

 Key Dates

Application Process: Dec. 3, 2018 – Feb. 15, 2019
Girls Notified: Mar. 1, 2019
Payment Due: Mar. 8, 2019

Program Fee: $125 (Financial Assistance is available. Additional information will be provided once accepted to the academy.)

Girls will be Notified March 1, 2019.

Payment is due March 8, 2019 (Payment link will be emailed with confirmation.)

STEP 3 – Squad Leaders
We are inviting prior Aspire graduates to apply to become Aspire Squad Leaders. The duties of the Aspire Squad Leader include, but are not limited to the following:
 
  • Leading, guiding, encouraging and mentoring squad of 5-6 new Aspire Academy participants through the program:
    • Ensure your squad is on time for Physical Training in the morning and all activity rotations throughout the day
    • Ensure participants have a clear understanding of Academy expectations
    • Lead evening debrief sessions with your individual squad for the large group
    • Communicate daily schedule and provide any updates or changes for your squad
  • Provide encouragement, support and positive reinforcement to all participants
  • Support Academy staff and volunteers with logistics, set up, and activity preparations
