We’re here to provide Girl Scout Leadership Experience programs, and help volunteers and parents plan their Girl Scout year with girls! Our Activities List and Calendar is the one-stop-shop to find up-to-date information about programs our council, its Service Units and Partners host throughout the year. Focus on Leadership

Developing the leaders of tomorrow is our mission, and we work to ensure that all program offerings include components of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GLSE). Learn more about GSLE.

All programs are categorized under one of our four focus areas. The focus areas are S.T.E.M., Outdoors, Life Skills, and Entrepreneurship. Learn more about our Focus Areas.

Grade Levels and Progression

Activities for girls are categorized by grade levels. By offering program this way, we are demonstrating our commitment to progression in Girl Scouts – increasing competency to develop a skill over time as you grow. Types of Council Program

Program can be offered through a variety of sources. We invite you to try them all! On this calendar you will find:

  • Council Sponsored – designed and implemented by council staff.
  • Service Unit Sponsored – Service Units (geographic area / neighborhood) design and implement for Girl Scouts in their Service Unit. Some of these programs are open to girls from other Service Units, read the program details to be sure. 
  • Program Partner Sponsored  – designed and implemented by council-approved partner organizations and corporations.
Who Can Participate

All registered Girl Scout members are welcome to sign up for any of our programs open to their grade level. Select programs are open to participation by non-GS family and friends. If a program allows non-members, it will be noted on the program description.

There are program pathways and awards not necessarily listed in this calendar. Learn more about all the ways to take part in Girl Scouts. 

Confirmation of Registration

You will see a detailed receipt on your screen upon completion of the registration process. This receipt is your activity registration confirmation; if you do not automatically receive a detailed receipt, you have not completed the registration process. For some events, additional confirmations will be sent via email with more activity information.

To view events you are registered for, log in to MyGS and click MyActivities. Clicking the information icon next to each event will provide you additional information.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

All cancellations must be submitted in writing by email to reghelp@girlscoutsaz.org . The refund policy is as follows.

Girl Program/Adult Training/Troop Camp/Family Camp
  • If the event requires a deposit, deposits are non-refundable
  • You may swap participants up to the day of the event
  • Refunds will not be given for programs or events under $5
  • All other events will be processed as follows:
    • 16 business days before the event – 100%
    • 11-15 business days before the event – 75%
    • 6-10 business days before the event – 50%
    • 5 or fewer business days before the event – no refund given
Summer Camp

Deposits
A non-refundable deposit of 10% of the session cost is required at the time of registration for day and resident camper sessions. Family and Troop Camp registration must include a $30 per person deposit. The deposit is applied to the cost of the session. Deposits are not transferable to another camper.

Refunds, Cancellations & Changes

Cancellations received in writing up to 10 days before the start of a session will be refunded, less the deposit. Bus fees are refundable up to 10 days before the start of a session. Requests for refunds will only be considered until the end of August each camp season. Non-refundable camp fees are not transferable to other campers. Refunds will not be given for no-shows.

If a camper must leave camp early due to illness, injury or a death in the family, the camp fee minus the deposit will be prorated and refunded. Camp fees will not be refunded if a camper leaves a session due to homesickness or misconduct.

Council Sponsored Travel Opportunity Programs

(Domestic/International Destinations for Girls)

  • If the event requires a deposit, deposits are non-refundable.
  • Once group tickets (airline, hotel, facility admissions) have been purchased, refunds will not be permitted.  (Based upon purchase, participant swaps may be permitted up to 2 weeks before event)
  • See the program description to view program specific refund policy. If no refund policy is listed the Travel refund policy, as written, will apply.
Council Sponsored Program/Event Cancellation

In the event Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus Pine Council finds it necessary to cancel an event or program, all troops/groups or individuals having submitted registrations and payments for that event or program will receive a full refund of all payments made via council check.

Financial Assistance and Program Credits

Financial assistance is available for all programs. Get the details and how to apply.

Senior Sky Badge Workshop Session

Playing with Fire 1

Location: The Arizona Pipe Trades Training Center 2950 West Thomas Road, Phoenix, AZ, 85017, USA

Learn about the trade of plumbing and pipefitting. Participants will learn about safety. Girl scouts will have the opportunity to solder copper tubing and fittings, cut pipe threads, cement plastic pipe and fittings, take apart a sink p-trap and reinstall, as well as learn about different kinds of pipe, fittings, hardware and tools.

Playing with Fire 2 - Intro to Welding

Experience welding. Attend a power point presentation and a safety talk before you experience your hands-on activity. Weld your own creations with the assistance from welding instructors. You will be provided with all the safety equipment you need and one on one professional support. Participants must be 12 years old or older to register for Playing with Fire 2. Discover ghosts and bats taking flight with physics! There will also be an extreme pumpkin carving contest and Ghouls will vote for their favorite design. Costumes are encouraged; please be mindful of our younger guests, who we don’t want to scare. Tricks or treats will also be available for participants. As always, closed-toe shoes are required! Please bring a refillable water bottle. It is recommended that Ghouls and their families dine prior to arrival. Girl Scout Day at the Phoenix Zoo 2018 Explore the wild and wonderful world of animals at the Phoenix Zoo! Special event experiences and activity stations focus on animals, conservation, sustainable living, being a scientist and more. Earn Girl Scout recognitions, have fun, and learn with and from friends, family, and exciting animal and zookeeper guests. Activities are designated by Girl Scout level and are facilitated open-house style (with scheduled zookeeper talks, too!). Explore your inner Nurse

Registration opens 9/10/18 and closes on 11/04/18 Join us at Chamberlain College of Nursing to explore your caring talents through hands on activities from basic first aid to the care for the seriously injured at our SIMCareTM Center with high fidelity mannequins. Girls will have the opportunity to work with professional nurses and nursing students as they rotate through a series of activities. Work on your Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador First Aid & Senior Women’s Health badges. Badges work will not be completed at event. Each girl participant will receive a participation patch. Please follow chaperone ratios outlined in Volunteer Essentials. Junior Detective Badge Camp-In Session

Arizona Science Center Patch Camp-In

Upon completion of the camp-in, all Girl Scouts attending will receive an Arizona Science Center Patch.

Brownie Bugs Badge

Design a bug poster before you arrive, labeling your bug with information specific to its type, research your favorite bug or choose from an assortment provided at the i.d.e.a. Museum!
