Troop Tuesday: Girls take the lead to help animals in need

Every year, approximately 7.6 million dogs and cats enter animal shelters nationwide. Living in a shelter can be stressful for animals, especially for those who stay for two weeks or longer.

To earn their Bronze Award, Troop 6314 decided take action by building two bookshelves full of pet supplies at Sun Valley Animal Shelter so dogs and cats can stay healthy, happy and comfy as they wait for their new home.

After building the bookshelves, the girls placed them in the meet-and-greet area of the shelter so people can get to know the dogs and cats before deciding to adopt them. They also hosted a cake auction and sold homemade coloring books to raise funds for the pet supplies.

We are so proud of Troop 6314’s creativity and leadership. Fabulous job, girls!
