Nearly 90 percent of girls surveyed by the Girl Scout Research Institute say the media places a lot of pressure of them to be thin. This research prompted Girl Scouts of the USA and members of Congress to develop the Healthy Media for Youth Act. Girl Scouts is now seeking Congressional cosponsors for the bill.
