Welcome to Camp Maripai!
Camp Maripai is an 80 acre camp situated at an elevation of 6,000 feet in the Prescott area. The mountainous terrain is full of boulder fields, pine, and some deciduous trees. Groom Creek divides the camp, and several footbridges cross it. The wildlife in the area includes deer, mountain lion, javelina, coyote, snake, raccoon, skunk, squirrels, birds and other small animals. The camp facilities include multi-use buildings, a program ramada, a sports field, a volleyball court, a campfire area with log seating, 5 cabin units, and several short nature trails.
Camp Maripai Site Description
All buildings have electricity and water except as noted. Heat is provided in buildings that are open for the winter season unless otherwise noted.
Lodge – open year round

Ice Room with Refrigerator
This building accommodates 50 people for overnight use and 140 people for day use. A lighted, covered porch extends across the front of the building overlooking the sports field. The large dining hall has a rafted ceiling, vinyl floors, a stone fireplace, ceiling fans, and tables and chairs. The bathroom is equipped with 5 toilets and 5 sinks. Behind the lodge is a bathroom with 3 flush toilets and an outside sink and is available during the summer season only. The lodge has a commercial kitchen. It must be rented with the lodge and only to those knowledgeable in the use of commercial kitchen equipment. A food handler’s permit is required.
Cook's Cabin – open during winter season
This building accommodates 4 people for overnight use and 8 people for day use. It has two rooms, a bathroom, a small covered porch, and an outside fire circle. The bathroom has a toilet, a sink, and a shower. There are kitchen facilities with a refrigerator and 2 burner electric stove.
Staff House – open year round
This building accommodates 18 people for overnight use and 30 people for day use. Complete with a large living area, two bedrooms, a residential kitchen, two bathrooms and a covered porch. The kitchen has a stove/oven, a microwave, a refrigerator, and a sink. Handicap accessible.
Solar Cabin – open year round
This modern building accommodates 14 people for overnight use and 30 people for day use. It has a large covered porch, 2 sleeping areas, a kitchen, a bathroom, and an outside fire circle. The porch has 2 tables and benches and is a great place for art projects. There are two entrances from the porch. The skylights provide lots of natural light for the sleeping rooms. The bathroom is equipped with a Clivus Multrum toilet; it also has a sink and shower. The kitchen has a stove, a refrigerator, and a sink.
Jean Clark Infirmary – open year round
This modern building accommodates 16 people for overnight use. It has two entrances to the building, a large room, two small rooms, a kitchen and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen has a stove, a refrigerator, a sink, and a table. Each bathroom has a toilet, a shower, and a sink. The large camp fire circle is across the road. Handicap accessible.
Nature Center – open year round
This building accommodates 18 people for overnight use and 36 people for day use. The entrance to the building has a small covered porch. It has two small rooms, one of which has a stone fireplace, and a larger dorm style room, a kitchen, a bathroom, and an outside fire circle. The bathroom has a toilet, a shower, and a sink.
Director's Cabin – open year round
This building accommodates 6 people for overnight use. A stairway leads to a deck entrance that overlooks the camp. It has one large room with carpet, a large closet, a bathroom, and an outside fire circle. The bathroom has a toilet, a shower, and a sink.
Wrangler Unit – open summer season only
This unit includes 2 cabins, a shower house and an outside fire circle located in front of the Wrangler Cabins. It accommodates a total of 10 people for weekend use. The shower house has 5 showers, 2 toilets, and a sink. The wrangler's tack house, corrals, and barn areas are used for resident camp only and are strictly off-limits.
Riding Director's Cabin – open summer season only
This building accommodates 6 people for overnight use. It has one sleeping room, and a large screened porch. It has 1 bathroom providing 1 toilets, 1 sinks, and a shower. There is no kitchen.
Timber Ridge – open summer season only
This is a primitive unit accommodating 20 people for overnight use and 40 people for day use. It is accessible on foot from the Greenwood Cabin unit. The unit has water, a pit latrine and a fire circle. Groups must bring all equipment, supplies and tents.
This ramada accommodates 40 people and is great for art and craft activities. It should be rented with a camping unit. It has a sink, electricity, storage cabinets, tables and benches, and a drinking fountain. The ramada is available through the winter season, weather permitting.

Each cabin unit accommodates 30 people in 6 cabins. The cabins are available for weekend use only. Each cabin has 5 beds with mattresses, windows with shutters, screened door and a storage locker. One cabin in each unit has electricity. Each unit has a shower house with toilets, showers and sinks. Each unit has a 3-sided shelter for program activities, a fire circle with a table and benches, water, trashcans, and a pole light at the fire circle, which lights up most of the unit. A chuck box is available upon request.
