We invite you to join us for an experiential, nature-based training retreat to enhance your skills and build your toolkit to better serve the girls you work with.  You will walk away with a plethora of concrete tools, ideas, inspiration, as well as increased confidence to deal with difficult emotional situations. Through presentation, discussion, and experiential activities, participants will: Experience and learn how to facilitate a wide variety of nature-based activities designed to: Strengthen relationships among participants; Increase girls’/women’s comfort level in the outdoors. Learn skills to manage participant anxiety and facilitate conflict resolution: Learn methods for working with emotional triggers and anxiety when they show up in programs; Learn and practice skills for conflict resolution that include empathy for self and others, emotional intelligence, and facilitating difficult conversation with participants based on the principles of Nonviolent Communication. Explore how to more effectively meet the needs of all your Girl scouts: Explore concepts and tools from diversity, equity and inclusion work; consider ways to improve your programming through engaging participants’ diverse needs with curiosity and compassion. Facilitator Information = Katie Asmus, MA, LPC, BMP, is a Counselor, Life Coach, Educator, Mentor , Workshop Facilitator, and founder of Namasté Healing Arts Center, LLC, a multi-dimensional therapeutic and educationally-based organization incorporating Wilderness and Body-Centered Psychotherapies. Kris Abrams, MS, MA, LPC, practices nature-based psychotherapy and shamanic journeying with Cedar Tree Healing Arts.  A Rhodes scholar, she holds a Master’s of Philosophy from Oxford University and a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Prescott College
