Confirmation of Registration

You will see a detailed receipt on your screen upon completion of the registration process. This receipt is your activity registration confirmation; if you do not automatically receive a detailed receipt, you have not completed the registration process. For some events, additional confirmations will be sent via email with more activity information.

To view events you are registered for, log in to MyGS and click MyActivities. Clicking the information icon next to each event will provide you additional information.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

All cancellations must be submitted in writing by email to reghelp@girlscoutsaz.org. The refund policy is as follows.

Girl Program/Adult Training/Troop Camp/Family Camp
  • If the event requires a deposit, deposits are non-refundable
  • You may swap participants up to the day of the event
  • Refunds will not be given for programs or events under $5
  • All other events will be processed as follows:
    • 16 business days before the event – 100%
    • 11-15 business days before the event – 75%
    • 6-10 business days before the event – 50%
    • 5 or fewer business days before the event – no refund given
Summer Camp

Deposits
A non-refundable deposit of 10% of the session cost is required at the time of registration for day and resident camper sessions. Family and Troop Camp registration must include a $30 per person deposit. The deposit is applied to the cost of the session. Deposits are not transferable to another camper.

Refunds, Cancellations & Changes

Cancellations received in writing up to 10 days before the start of a session will be refunded, less the deposit. Bus fees are refundable up to 10 days before the start of a session. Requests for refunds will only be considered until the end of August each camp season. Non-refundable camp fees are not transferable to other campers. Refunds will not be given for no-shows.

If a camper must leave camp early due to illness, injury or a death in the family, the camp fee minus the deposit will be prorated and refunded. Camp fees will not be refunded if a camper leaves a session due to homesickness or misconduct.

Council Sponsored Travel Opportunity Programs

(Domestic/International Destinations for Girls)

  • If the event requires a deposit, deposits are non-refundable.
  • Once group tickets (airline, hotel, facility admissions) have been purchased, refunds will not be permitted.  (Based upon purchase, participant swaps may be permitted up to 2 weeks before event)
  • See the program description to view program specific refund policy. If no refund policy is listed the Travel refund policy, as written, will apply.
Council Sponsored Program/Event Cancellation

In the event Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus Pine Council finds it necessary to cancel an event or program, all troops/groups or individuals having submitted registrations and payments for that event or program will receive a full refund of all payments made via council check.

Silver Award Training

Silver Award is the highest award girls in 6th-8th grade can earn. It lets a girl discover and tackle a problem outside of Girl Scouts and make connections and work with others to create a lasting change in the community. Pre-req – Complete steps 1-2 of a Cadette Journey so girls will be poised to learn how to Take Action. This training is for Cadettes and the adults that guide them to learn: • the difference between a community service project and a Silver Award Take Action project • ideas on how to raise the bar and address the root cause of problems • how to make a Silver Award project measurable • how sustainability fits into the Silver Award • what you need to submit to the council • recognition offered by the council Open to registered Girl Scouts grades 6-8/Cadette Level and the adults that guide them. At least one adult per troop must register and attend training with girls. Troop Camp Certification Level 2

Red Cross Wilderness First Aid Certification

Designed for Girl Scouts and Girl Scout leaders, outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who works or spends time in remote environments, this course teaches advanced skills to be used in emergencies when help from professional first responders may be far away. Participants will receive Wilderness First Aid certification needed for outdoor activities more than 30 minutes away from emergency medical services plus the WFA patch segment. (Requirements: Ages 15 and older. Must have current standard First Aid/CPR Certification.

Advanced Outdoor Cooking

Learn fun ways to cook outdoors beyond the basics. Experiment with a variety of cooking methods such as cooking in a can or baking in a box. Learn how to make a tin can stove and a buddy burner. Learn great ideas to help girls have fun learning to cook delicious food in new ways. Participants will receive the Advanced Outdoor Cooking patch segment. Backpacking Training

This course is designed with the beginner in mind. Get ready to take your girls on fascinating treks as you learn the tricks of the trail from experienced outdoor trainers. You will spend the first night at camp and then head out on the trail in the morning on an overnight backpacking trip below the beautiful Mogollon Rim outside of Shadow Rim Ranch. Participants will receive the Backpacking specialty patch segment. (Requirements: ability to navigate uneven terrain and carry a backpack weighing no more than 30 lbs. for a distance of no more than 15 miles. Who can attend? Girls ages 15 and older with tent camping experience – must be accompanied by responsible adult. Adult volunteers with tent camping experience and completion of Troop Camp Certification Level 2.) Heritage Program Training

Take a step back in time, dress like a real resident of the “Little House under the Rim�?. Learn traditional games and crafts that girls enjoyed in pioneer days. Learn cooking and crafting skills used by pioneer women in their day to day life such as quilting, churning butter, candle dipping, canning and whittling. Participants will receive the heritage program patch. (Requirements: Ages 15 and older, completion of Troop Camp Certification Level 2.)

Canoe Facilitator Training

Location: Shadow Rim Ranch 530 N Shadow Rim Rd, Payson, AZ, 85541, USA

Canoe Instructor training will familiarize participants with water safety procedures and precautions, essential equipment for proper canoe programming, and the knowledge and skills to instruct participants in having a successful canoe experience. Successful completion of this course will qualify volunteers to instruct canoe activity sessions. (Requirements: Ages 18 and older. Must be able to swim.)

Climbing Tower and Zip Line Instructor

Location: Shadow Rim Ranch 530 N Shadow Rim Rd, Payson, AZ, 85541, USA

Climbing Tower training for encampment groups will consist of familiarization with all of the safety aspects of operating the climbing wall tower including, proper set-up, take down, and checking of the equipment; participant clip-in procedures and safety checks; and how to manage and encourage participants through the activity. This course will provide the training and clearance to instruct Climbing Tower and Zip Line activities at Shadow Rim Ranch. (Requirements: Ages 18 and older. Physical ability to navigate narrow stairs, climb and facilitate at heights of up to 50 feet).

Archery Level 1

Become a USA Archery Level 1 Instructor! Utilize your new found skills and knowledge with your troop, at encampments or at Council events. Upon completion of the course and passing the test, participants will receive a USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Certification card. (Requirements: Ages 15 and older.)

Navigating the Tough Stuff 101

This class is designed for Adult Leaders, Adult Volunteers and Girl Scout Parents. This course will take a deeper look at Mental Health and how issues such as suicide, depression/anxiety and self-harm affect Girl Scouts. There will be a classroom portion as well as an in depth role-play. Please note that a second session will be held later in the year which will cover issues such as bullying and abuse. **This class is meant to provide Leaders with a better understanding of mental health, and a professional should still be contacted in an emergency.** This class is for adult attendees only. A girl session on similar content will be available at another time.

Nature Based Skills Booster Training

We invite you to join us for an experiential, nature-based training retreat to enhance your skills and build your toolkit to better serve the girls you work with.  You will walk away with a plethora of concrete tools, ideas, inspiration, as well as increased confidence to deal with difficult emotional situations. Kris Abrams, MS, MA, LPC, practices nature-based psychotherapy and shamanic journeying with Cedar Tree Healing Arts. A Rhodes scholar, she holds a Master’s of Philosophy from Oxford University and a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Prescott College

Playing with Fire 2 - Intro to Welding

Experience welding. Attend a power point presentation and a safety talk before you experience your hands-on activity. Weld your own creations with the assistance from welding instructors. Playing with Fire 1

Location: The Arizona Pipe Trades Training Center 2950 West Thomas Road, Phoenix, AZ, 85017, USA

Learn about the trade of plumbing and pipefitting. Participants will learn about safety. Girl scouts will have the opportunity to solder copper tubing and fittings, cut pipe threads, cement plastic pipe and fittings, take apart a sink p-trap and reinstall, as well as learn about different kinds of pipe, fittings, hardware and tools.
