Tell us why you invest the time and effort in being a troop leader? I have four daughters that all can enjoy going to camp and learning so many things from girl scouts, and we can do it together!
Favorite GS program and why? Encampment is all of our favorites, it's a time to bond as a troop, and we can learn new things, see a change of scenery, and get to know fellow girl scout sisters.

If you were a GS cookie what would it be and why? I would be a Samoa because I am so bold and crazy!
What was the most inspiring moment you’ve experienced? Honestly, there isn't just one. It’s really inspirational seeing time and time again all of the hard work these girls put in, but if I had to think of one, it would need to be my Cadettes helping out our Daisies. As Girl Scouts grow older and bridge to new heights they get more and more responsibilities, one of them is teaching and helping our younger children. The patience, guidance, and kindness of the Cadettes while helping is remarkable. I love to watch and admire.
What has been your proudest moment? When my eldest daughter had a box of cookies donated and without thinking walked over to a homeless, elderly man and asked if he wanted them. She only wanted to make someone else happy!
How do you balance the demands of being a troop leader? It's so difficult but parent involvement is critical to the success of a troop. It's a village that helps us raise our children not an individual leader.
What goals and projects are you currently working on? Every parent has a different level and all levels work on separate badges. I am excited about the Cadettes badge. They are working on making the troop a meal. Also, every year we go on a big trip with cookie sales. Last year was Legoland; this year is Disneyland, can't wait!
What advice would you give other troop leaders? ASK, ASK, ASK! Please reach out to the service team and ask for help. Parent involvement is so important to the troop, give incentives for parents that help!
What do you wish someone had told you as a new leader? The importance of encampment! Encampment is something every single girl should be able to experience! It is an experience that cannot be expressed in words. The nighttime campfire, songs and skits, the exchange of SWAPS, the meeting new friends, experiencing new things, bonding with sisters, we love every second, especially the nights we did not sleep since the girls stay up all night in the cabins together!
