Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council (GSACPC) has embarked on a first-ever local partnership with rideshare company Lyft to help promote 2018 local Girl Scout Cookie sales. Through the partnership, Lyft is offering a “Cookie Mode” code from Feb. 19 to 25. During that time, any riders who use the code GSPHX will get a special treat: their Lyft will be Girl Scout themed. And, as a special treat to the local Girl Scouts, $1 from every Cookie Mode ride will be donated to local Girl Scouts.
But that’s not all!
“Lyft generously purchased 250 boxes of cookies so that their drivers can surprise and delight Cookie Mode passengers–chosen at random-with Girl Scout Cookies during their ride,” said Christina Spicer, director of development for GSACPC. “And, those who are new to Lyft can use code GIRLSCOUTS to take $5 off their next four rides.”
According to Spicer, when those new users take their first ride, $10 will be donated to the local Girl Scouts. Start by downloading the app>
In addition, throughout all of cookie season – Jan. 22 to March 4 – more than 100 full-time Lyft drivers are promoting the Girl Scouts handy dandy Cookie Finder app with large branded magnets on their cars.
“For six weeks each year, Girl Scouts in Arizona participate in the largest girl-led business: the Girl Scout Cookie Program. This year, we have more than 13,000 girls in central and northern Arizona walking around neighborhoods and boothing in front of local stores learning entrepreneurial skills while selling delicious cookies,” said Spicer. “Partnerships like this one help our girls not only in their sales, but helps raise additional critical funds needed to help them attend camp, take part in enrichment programs and so much more.”
