Camp Sombrero
Camp Sombrero is a 14.5 acre camp situated at the base of South Mountain in Maricopa County. The rocky desert terrain supports many desert plants and trees. The wildlife in the area includes snakes, lizards, quail, rabbits, squirrels, birds, and other small animals. Phoenix South Mountain Park adjoins the camp, providing hiking and nature opportunities. Camp facilities include a sub-Olympic size swimming pool with a large wading pool, volleyball court, multi-use buildings, several ramadas, overnight camping space, and short hiking trails.
